"Any religion or philosophy which is not based on a respect for life is not a true religion or philosophy."  ~ Albert Schweitzer

Philosophy

Janet's training philosophy centers around respecting the needs of both the animals and their people. She creates training processes which strive to set everyone up for success by limiting unwanted choices of behavior, and rewarding choices that result in acceptable behaviors.

It is important to note that most bad habits -- canine, feline, or human -- don't develop overnight. Likewise, the wise pet owner realizes changing habits takes time, practice and patience.

Janet adheres to the LIMA principle; she chooses Least Invasive and Minimally Aversive practices in training animals. (And, yes -- for people, too!)

Janet believes recipes for changing behavior and developing training new skills require fun and a sense of humor. She includes both in her processes.

Don't believe the old saying. Even old dogs (and cats) can learn new tricks. It's all about motivation.
